Pueblos indígenas : Prácticas y representaciones de un sujeto histórico

Abstract

Este proyecto avanzó en el estudio de los pueblos indígenas de América como sujetos políticos, protagonistas de su historia en diferentes contextos temporales. Por un lado, se exploró su actuación en las disputas por el territorio llevadas adelante durante el siglo XVI en la región de Cochabamba (Bolivia) y en Madre de Dios (Perú) durante el siglo XXI. Por el otro, se analizaron las representaciones de los indígenas presentes en los programas de enseñanza de la carrera de Historia de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Los resultados alcanzados han permitido, en primer lugar, identificar las diferentes estrategias que en cada contexto histórico han implementado los indígenas para luchar por el territorio y, en segundo lugar, relevar las rupturas y continuidades en las representaciones que de los indígenas americanos se construyeron en ámbitos académicos durante la primera parte del siglo XX.

This project advanced the study of the indigenous peoples of America as political subjects, protagonists of their history in different temporal contexts. On the one hand, their performance in the disputes over territory carried out during the 16th century in the region of Cochabamba (Bolivia) and in Madre de Dios (Peru) during the 21st century was explored. On the other hand, the representations of indigenous people present in the teaching programs of the History degree at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) during the first half of the 20th century were analyzed. The results achieved have allowed, firstly, to identify the different strategies that the indigenous people have implemented in each historical context to fight for the territory and, secondly, to highlight the ruptures and continuities in the representations of the American Indians that were constructed in academic fields during the first part of the 20th century.
