Resumen
Berazategui.
The theoretical framework that supports the project is that of urban ecology. The objective of the project is to propose a framework that allows comprehensive planning towards adaptive resilience in the South Suburban Region of Buenos Aires, in the face of global change. The project's study area is the Las Conchitas stream basin, in the Florencio Varela and Berazategui districts. The project consists of three methodological parts: 1: Water quality sampling and surveys, 2: Characterization of land uses and their relationship with water quality, and 3) Application of tools to reduce territorial weaknesses and identified threats. The most relevant results have been achieved: 1) characterization of the water quality of the basin with a spatial approach, 2) characterization of land uses and the analysis of their relationship with water quality: the results indicate that the quality of the water is related to the uses of the land and that the relation depends on the distance to the stream. 3) Development of a resilience index for the basin. Conclusions: The results obtained indicate that there is a degree of organization between the population, the productive and institutional systems, and of these with the conditions of the water ecosystem. This organization however is weak and labile. The basin system as a whole has a low resilience to face stress situations, both sporadic and trend, such as the expected effects in the area due to climate change.
